A career in sport isn't only about being an athlete, coach or physio. Behind every major event is a whole team of people who plan and deliver it - and we're looking for someone to join them.

The Inclusive Sport & Culture Festival comes to Liverpool in 2027, bringing together elite Paralympic-pathway athletes and a disabled-led arts and culture programme. Our operations partner, Sheffield-based MLS Contracts, is now recruiting an Event Administrator Apprentice to help make it happen - working on ISCF and across MLS's wider portfolio of events.
The apprenticeship
A paid role with a nationally recognised qualification: the Level 3 Event Assistant Standard
Hands-on experience across live events, with the guidance of an industry development coach
Blended training - online learning, classroom sessions and workplace projects - covering event logistics, rules and regulations, event technology and measuring success
Real opportunities to grow and progress
What you'd be doing
Registering athletes and staff onto the event accreditation system, and monitoring entries
Organising Local Organising Committee and sub-group meetings - agendas, minutes and follow-up actions
Acting as a first point of contact for enquiries during planning and delivery
Supporting venue operations, contractors and partners in the build-up to and during events
Helping keep the website and social channels up to date
Who we're looking for
Someone proactive and organised with a "can-do" attitude, good IT skills (spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint) and a confident, friendly manner with people. You don't need years of experience - just the right attitude and a willingness to grow. Everyone is welcome, whatever your background or identity.
An inclusive opportunity
Opening up career pathways for disabled people is one of the reasons ISCF exists. MLS welcomes applications from people with a disability, neurodivergence or accessibility needs - and guarantees an interview to anyone who declares a disability in their application and meets the minimum requirements for the role.
Good to know
Based at MLS's Sheffield office (you'll need to be within daily commuting distance)
Travel to event locations across the UK, with short periods away during delivery
A full driving licence is an advantage - personal mileage on shorter journeys is reimbursed
