Our accessibility commitment

Mission statement

Our goal is to create an event experience that welcomes all visitors regardless of ability, age, ethnic background, or circumstance. Accessibility is not an afterthought for us; it’s a fundamental right.

Our commitments

  • Inclusive by design: We consider accessibility at the earliest stages of planning and throughout the event lifecycle, guided by those with lived experience.

  • Standards-driven: We will use established guidelines to inform our work, and strive to go beyond at every opportunity.

  • Accessible to all: We aim to meet the needs of people with visual, hearing, motor, and cognitive differences, as well as those using assistive technologies.

  • Truly inclusive: We recognise that inclusion relates to the many barriers our communities face, and many of those challenges are intersectional.

  • Continuous improvement: We test regularly, engage with those with lived experience, listen to feedback, and update our plans to remove barriers and improve visitor experience.

  • Accountability: We will be accountable for our actions, recording our actions and decisions, reporting openly and transparently. We will share our experience with the UK’s major event sector.

How we will do it

  • Leadership & representation: Placing those with lived experience at the heart of our planning and at all levels of decision making.

  • Clear Communication: Being transparent about what support is in place, making it easy to communicate with us.

  • Independent audit: Regular testing of our plans and processes.

  • Training: Ensuring our teams and service providers across the spectator journey have access to inclusion training.
